Welcome

Welcome to the Moore County Republican Men's Club Page! We hope you will take the time to look around our site and we hope to see you at our next meeting.  Membership is open to all registered Moore County Republicans.  We are currently the largest Republican Men's Club in the state of North Carolina, a distinction of which we are extremely proud.

We hope you will become a part of our organization and grow our membership even more!  We welcome those who are not yet registered Republican, but who are interested in joining, to attend our meetings as guests.

June Meeting Program

Picture
The Executive Board of the Moore County Republican Men’s Club desires to have our June meeting in honor of our Republican elected officials who serve Moore County . . . to give our membership an opportunity to personally thank them for the positive things they do and to get to know them better.

At 6:00 PM, June 7, at the Country Club of North Carolina, our club will begin with a social hour that will include light hors d'oeuvres and an open cash bar.  The beautiful outside patio will be open for our use where we may come together and mingle with our elected officials . . . not a political rally, but a time for us to have a chance to tell them how much we appreciate what they are doing for us and to get to know them better.   Dinner will be served at the same cost as our monthly luncheon.

Before dinner all attending elected officials will be introduced . . . after dinner and because of time constraints, only one representative from municipalities, one from the county commissioners, one from the school board, and other elected officials will be allowed three minutes to speak.

It’s really a festive occasion to get to know better your elected representatives and to honor their service to our community.  It, too, is our Membership Drive, and I am asking each of you to do your best to encourage a fellow Republican to become a member of our club.

Looking forward to seeing you at our June meeting and by all means bring a guest.

Note: We will meet on Thursday, June 7. Registration and social begins at 6:00 PM, with dinner at or about 7:00 PM. Program is expected to begin at 7:30 PM, to last for approximately one hour.

Moore Republican Women June Program

The Moore Republican Women will hold its next luncheon meeting on Monday, June 4th at the Pinehurst Members Club.  Registration begins at 11:30, lunch is served at noon, followed by a brief meeting and our program.   We adjourn by 1:30 p.m.

Our featured speaker is Ilario Pantano, a respected combat veteran and best-selling author who has worked in both global markets and small business.  The “born again Southerner” is a 40 year-old conservative committed to promoting job creation and revitalizing the economy, protecting the homeland and preserving our conservative values.  Ilario fought in Desert Storm and then ten years later, re-enlisted in the Marines after witnessing the attacks of September 11.  Ilario's first book, “WARLORD:  Broken By War. Saved By Grace” was re-released by Simon & Schuster on Dec. 1, 2011, and Ilario’s second book on Southern military  traditions and politics will be published in 2012.

Ilario Pantano
Ilario was the 2010 GOP nominee for the 7th Congressional District, and he ran again under the new district lines in 2012.  In 2010, Ilario's campaign raised over $1.2 million, more than any other Republican Congressional candidate, incumbent or challenger in North Carolina.   Ilario came very close to pulling off the upset of the year in 2010, pulling by far more votes against 16 year incumbent Mike McIntyre than any previous candidate.

Ilario and his wife Jill are raising their two boys in Wilmington North Carolina where the Pantanos have strong roots. Ilario is very active in the local community in Wilmington and across Southeastern North Carolina working with his boys' scout troop, supporting veterans organizations, volunteering in the community, and attending Grace Baptist Church.

June 4th Menu:  Chicken, Tuna and Pasta Salad Trio (House-made Chicken Salad, Tuna Salad and Creamy Macaroni Salad served on a bed of Romaine with Marinated Cucumbers, Sliced Red and Yellow Beefsteak Tomatoes and Olives and selected dressings).  Dessert:  Lemon Tart

Special Request for Help

Picture
Our Moore County GOP opened its Headquarters on Tuesday, March 17th with remarks by NC Speaker of the House, Thom Tillis.  Those in attendance were able to meet and greet various officers of the Moore County GOP, representatives of the Moore County Republican Men’s and Women’s Club and other enthusiastic members of the Republican party.

If you have not yet visited the new headquarters, please do so.  It is located in downtown Southern Pines at 230 SW Broad Street, just next to the Little Toy Shop.  You can call the headquarters at (910) 246-1364.  All efforts are being made to keep the headquarters open between 10:00am & 5:00pm.  To accomplish this schedule, we need many more volunteers to work there.  The headquarters has a computer, a couple of TV’s and Wi-Fi for your laptop, tablet and/or other internet device.

If you would be able to work one-half of a day each week, either 10:00am to 2:00pm or 2:00pm to 5:00pm, we need your help.  Even if you can work only a few days a month, we still need your help.  To get on the work schedule, contact Joan Thurman by phone, (910) 215-0227 or email oliana21@nc.rr.com. Be prepared to give her the day(s) and shift(s) you can work and then be sure and show up those days.
